What is a cam license?

A cam license, which stands for Community Association Manager license, is a credential that allows individuals to work as community association managers in the state of Florida. Community association managers are responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of homeowners' and condominium associations, including managing budgets, coordinating maintenance and repairs, and enforcing community rules and regulations.

To obtain a cam license in Florida, individuals must complete a 16-hour pre-licensure course, pass a state exam, and meet certain experience and education requirements. Once licensed, community association managers must complete continuing education courses every two years to renew their license.

Having a cam license demonstrates that an individual has the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively manage community associations and uphold the laws and regulations governing these organizations. It also allows community association managers to operate legally and ethically within the state of Florida.
